Advantages of PLA Coating

PLA, or Polylactic Acid, is a bio-based and biodegradable material derived from renewable plants like corn and cassava. Its key advantages as a coating lie in its environmental profile and specific properties:

  1. Compostable & Biodegradable

Under industrial composting conditions (specific temperature, humidity, and microbes), the PLA coating, along with its substrate (e.g., a paper cup), can completely break down into CO₂, water, and biomass within a few months.
